Could the Screen objects be colored? if I don't wanna use the Canvas objects?

I just simply want to display the colored texts and of course the colored background. It's okey if I do on the Canvas object but when it's long sentence... it's hard to controll.
It's easy if I append those long sentences on the Form object but it's not colorfull....
Anybody who knows how, please tell me ... I'm just a beginner in midlet...
