How do u program from Handheld terminal to system using Java

My project is on Port opeartion on Ship yard.


I will get a radio signal from handheld device,i had to capture that signal and send him the login page.


upon confirmation,i have to send him the job schedule


so i would like to know how i could able to capture the signal using which software in java.


can we work on Telnet.


How should i carry on testing of that.


please also let me know the required protocols and hardware configuration of the system

The process forum is dedicated to software development processes like RUP, XP etc.

So you could probably increase your chance of getting a usefull answer by posting to a more appropriate forum, like the networking forum or one of the embedded ones...

Have you found an answer yet?
I have written java programs to work with vt220 handhelds.
What kind of terminals are you working with?
Intermec? LXE?
And what models?
