I think, CLDC device must have atleast the following hardware attributes
160 KB of total memory available for java.( 128 KB of non-volatile memory for the JVM and CLDC API libraries, 32 KB of volatile memory for JRE )
In the similar stream MIDP requires
128 KB of non-volatile memory for the MIDP-API libraries
32 KB of volatile memory for JRE
8 KB of non-volatile memory for application data
Other requirements include
16 bit processor
Network connectivity 9600bps or lower
