What are the minimal characteristics of a smartcard

chip to be able to embbed a Javacard Software.

What are the required amount of ROM, RAM EEPROM....

Should it be a 8, 16 or a 32 bits micro ?

Java Cards come in a variety of sizes. currently deployed cards are 32k and new ones coming out are 64k.
That means the approximate of EEPROM available, that doesn't relate to the total memory size. There's actually more on the card that contains native implementations, card OS, crypto-coprocessor, JCRE, etc.

Your question isn't complete because I don't know if you are referring to Java Card applets or a JCRE
