Using VAJ Professional, what is the procedure for moving my ivj.dat repository file (stored on my local file system) onto a networked drive?

Eric Rizzo

Unfortunately, Professional Edition does not support moving of the repository file (ivj.dat) from its installed location. VAJ Enterprise Edition will allow you to connect to a repository located anywhere as well as to a shared team repository through EMSRV.

If your goal is to have the repository backed up by regular network backups, it is sufficient to simply copy the repository file on a regular basis to a backed-up location. Although it is not clear that it is essential, I recommend doing the copy while VAJ is not running.
You may also want to copy the workspace file (ide.icx) for backup, but this is not absolutely necessary since it is possible to rebuild a new workspace as long as you have the repository (where the code is actually stored).
