
Mirabai Chanu returned to India on Monday after winning silver in the Tokyo Olympics. On his return to the country, the round of his honor continues continuously. In such a situation, Indian Railways also did not lag behind in appreciating the amazing work of this promising employee. India’s new Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav honored him for winning the silver medal in the weightlifting event of the Tokyo Olympics. Mirabai Chanu won a silver medal in the women’s weightlifting event of 49 kg. He did this feat by lifting a weight of 202 kg. Mirabai lifted 87 kg in the snatch round and 115 kg in the clean and jerk.
This amazing feat of Mirabai Chanu was highly appreciated by the Railway Minister of India. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav described Mirabai Chanu as the pride of the country and the honor of Indian Railways. He also announced a further promotion of Rs 2 crore from the Railways by tweeting. The Railway Minister said that he has done the work of inspiring crores of Indians with his talent and hard work.

Sports Minister Also Honored Before Railways
Before the Minister of Indian Railways, Mirabai Chanu was also honored by the Ministry of Sports. Sports Minister Anurag Thakur, Minister of State for Sports Nishith Pramanik along with other Union Ministers like former Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju, Sarbananda Sonowal and G Krishna Reddy were also present in the program organized by the Sports Ministry in his honor.
Mirabai Credits Her For Tokyo’s Success
Mirabai Chanu credited the Sports Ministry and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for her success in Tokyo. She said, ‘I would like to thank the Prime Minister and the Sports Minister. He sent me to America for practice in a very short time. All the preparations were completed in a day. It was because of him that I got good training and I was able to win medals. Earlier, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Monday announced that Tokyo Olympics silver medalist weightlifter Mirabai Chanu would be appointed as additional superintendent of police in the state police department. The Chief Minister said that the state government would also give him a reward of one crore rupees.
