
Announced as miniseries, production with an actress from The Big Bang Theory will be expanded
The new series by The Big Bang Theory star, Kaley Cuoco, pleased HBO Max. the streaming renewed The Flight Attendant, originally announced as a miniseries, for a second season.
The eight-episode thriller was based on Chris Bohjalian’s book. The plot follows a flight attendant who wakes up drunk in a hotel room with a corpse beside her. Without being sure what happened, she will try to solve the crime and get away with it.
The series has been widely commented on social networks, mainly by Cuoco’s interpretation. Although she takes the character with tones of humor, she in no way reminds Penny of The Big Bang Theory.
Also, this is the first series that Cuoco is the main protagonist. So, she is having a great opportunity to show all her talent. Although the actress has already had the opportunity to show her performance during the 12 seasons of the already classic comedy.
Series performance surprised
Since its debut, The Flight Attendant has garnered praise from critics and the public. According to HBO Max content director Casey Bloys, the series has garnered the largest audience among the original series on the platform.
The series was adapted by screenwriter Steve Yockey ( Supernatural ). Also, Kaley Cuoco is one of the main producers of the suspense alongside Greg Berlanti ( The Flash ).
The cast also features Zosia Mamet ( Girls ), Michiel Huisman ( Game of Thrones ), Rosie Perez ( Rise ). As well as TR Knight ( Grey’s Anatomy ), Colin Woodell ( The Originals ), Michelle Gomez ( Chilling Adventures of Sabrina ) and others.
There is still no preview of the series premiere in Brazil, but Warner will bring HBO Max to the country in 2021.
The cancellation of The Big Bang Theory is still subject
In the meantime, the cancellation of The Big Bang Theory remains on the agenda.
During its 12 seasons, the series was one of the most successful comedies in TV history, having garnered huge ratings (and profits) for Warner Bros. and CBS. That’s why, to this day, many fans were upset about the series being canceled.
The production designer for The Big Bang Theory, John Shaffner, recently spoke openly about the events leading up to the series’ cancellation, and he confirmed that the broadcaster had the intention of taking the series at least until the 14th season.
“What happened was that Jim Parsons was in contact with Chuck Lorre [creator] during the break and said he couldn’t go back and do more. And Chuck always said that if a cast member left the series, the show would have to end. ”, he said.
John Shaffner also revealed that part of the cast did not receive the news positively. He remembered seeing the stars Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco hugging and crying on one of the sets after they knew what was going to happen.
