Following the conclusion of season two in October 2020, fans have been eagerly awaiting the show’s return.
The Boys Season 3 On Amazon Prime Video
Season 3 of The Boys had been declared by Amazon on July 19th, 2020, two weeks before season 2 even started.
The upcoming installment promises to be explosive after Billy Butcher’s wife, Becca, was killed (for real this time) from the season 2 finale That Could very well watch Butcher go even further off the rails than before,
On the other side of this split, Vought and Homelander were rocked by the death of Stormfront and will require some new recruits to acquire the Seven back up to full capacity.
The Boys Season 3 Release Date
The release date for The Boys season 3 has not been announced at the time of composing.
However, if we take a look at the show’s past release dates and season 3’s filming program, we could get some idea of when the new installment might arrive.
Between seasons 1 and 2, there was a gap of 14 months and when there was a comparable wait for season 3 then, in theory, it must arrive at December 2021.
On the other hand, the filming schedule for season 3, which was delayed in part thanks to Covid-19, would indicate otherwise.
The Boys Season 3 Filming Schedule
Filming on the Boys season 3 started in February 2021 and can be scheduled to continue until September 2021 which will make the possible December release date a little ambitious.
If we look at The Boys’ next season, filming concluded in November 2019 only for the season itself to be released in September 2020, that’s a gap of 10 months for post-production to happen.
If there’s an identical wait for season 3 then it might be too late as July 2022 before Billy Butcher’s next venture starts.
