As Mirror reports, Clooney had to be hospitalized for pancreatitis – an inflammation of the pancreas – four days before shooting on the film began. The actor began to suffer severe pain in his stomach, which led him to the medical center, where he had to spend a few days in the hospital.

“I think I tried really hard to lose weight very fast and probably was not taking care of myself,” Clooney said in the aforementioned medium. “It took me a few days to improve and, as a director, it is not easy because you need energy. We were out on this glacial in Finland, which made the job a lot harder, but it helped with the character, ”he concludes.

In Midnight Sky, the actor takes on the role of scientist Augustine Lofthouse, also named Augie. The story follows him, who is left totally alone in a research facility in the Arctic when Earth is plunged into a terribly strange and event. Augie is the only one who can contact the crew of the Aether, who have been in orbit for two years awaiting instructions from our planet.
