
Since then Halo Reach joined The Master Chief Collection At the end of last year, the game changed a way that distributes new content in different periods called seasons. Since then, the game has had five different seasons throughout 2020, and as we move into 2021, it looks like 343 Industries will continue this format.
Detailed in a new blog on the Halo website, 343 outlined some of his initial plans he has for The Master Chief Collection in the New Years’. What’s most notable about these plans is that the game will continue to see new seasons for the next 12 months. 343 says it has a planned roadmap through Season 10 for now and each of these Seasons will last two months total. Whether or not this season format will continue after season 10 has yet to be decided internally.
When it comes to what each season will focus on, well, that is yet to be disclosed. Season 5, which is the next season to be released in The Master Chief Collection, is said to include some new pieces of armor for Halo Reach in particular. The Halo 3 A portion of MCC will also get some new customization options. As for seasons 6-10, it is unknown at this time what might be in store.
Despite being over six years old, Halo: The Master Chief’s Collection has had a second wind in recent months. Not only has the entire game been completed on the PC platform, but the collection was also recently optimized for Microsoft’s new Xbox Series X and S consoles. While Halo Infinity is arguably the most prominent project in the works for 343 Industries at the moment, the company has continued to demonstrate that it is dedicated to MCC in a significant way.
