Malaysia To Host Asian Champions League Football Games

Malaysia has been announced as the venue for the East Asian group stage matches of the AFC Champions League, AFC (Asian Football Confederation) has confirmed.

Malaysia will sponsor two teams from the coronavirus-hit AFC Champions League, organizers said, even two pools at Asia’s premier soccer competition stay without a home.

Qatar has agreed to sponsor all four groups from the West area, Malaysia has stepped into stage East-zone classes H and G, including teams in Japan, China, South Korea, and Australia, in addition to Malaysia’s Johor Darul Ta’zim.

The Champions League, on hold because the Coronavirus Pandemic wiped out global game in March, will resume on September 14 in Qatar with all the games in Malaysia beginning on October 17.

But “the centralized place for the AFC Champions League groups F and E, in addition to the staying softball stage suits, are yet to be supported”, an Asian Football Confederation announcement said.

Groups E and F comprise groups in Japan, China, South Korea, Australia, and Thailand.
