India’s Jehan Daruvala secured the podium for the first time in the FIA ​​Formula 2 race at the Bahrain Grand Prix Support Race here on Saturday. Daruvala of Red Bull Racing Junior became the first Indian to achieve a podium in the FIA ​​Formula 2 race.

Daruvala performed brilliantly in the final 15 minutes to finish third in this 32 lap race. He started in eighth place in the feature race (race 1). He was then in sixth position, improving two places. He lost two places in lap five. He lost two more places as his speed decreased.

But after that he finished 10th by a few laps.

The 22-year-old Daruvala started the race from 18th place to change the tire and finished sixth in the 19th lap. Daruvala then overtook the race winner Robert Schwatgerman, finishing fifth and then finishing third.

In the final minutes, Daruvala finished third in the race, overtaking top driver Mick Schumacher.

Daruvala was the second runner-up at the FIA ​​Formula 3 Championship last year. But now he has won the podium for the first time in the first season of the Ultra Competitive Championship.
