Dilbert on jGuru
Alex has been programming in the Java language since 1995. Before
joining Jguru.com, he was Senior Product Architect and Director of
Software Engineering for EarthWeb, where he co-created Gamelan , the Official
Java Directory for the Java community. Alex also supervised a
team of programmers in developing EarthWeb Chat, a Java-based client
and server that has become the most widely licensed Java applet of its
time. He has spoken at numerous user groups and conferences and
written articles for several Java technology magazines.
Alex is an expert in object oriented programming and design, user
interface design, website administration, and systems programming in
Unix, MacOS, and Windows. He is fluent in Java, C++, Perl, and Scheme.
He earned a Bachelors degree with honors from Reed College. He has
published research papers on evolutionary computation (also known as
genetic algorithms) and on implicit memory in human cognition.
