
The final 10 episodes of Michael Hirst’s historical drama: Vikings, are moving from the History Channel to Amazon Prime Video for their first premiere. The streaming platform has reached an agreement to have the exclusive first run of the second half of the latest season of the MGM drama.
The unusual arrangement means that the History Channel, which originally commissioned the show, will only have second-window rights to one of its key scripted shows.
The move also comes as Netflix is in production with its Vikings spin-off, Vikings: Valhalla, which is currently in production in Ireland.
