• New fight confirmed for the NXT New Year’s Evil special that will take place on January 6 through USA Network

During the transmission of NXT through USA Network, it was announced that  Timothy Thatcher and Tommaso Ciampa will face each other in The Fight Pit match on January 6 in the special New Year’s Evil.

A few weeks ago Tommaso Ciampa was observing Thatch-As-Thatch-Can classes as he did not like the idea of ​​Thatcher bullying her students during training. Ciampa interrupted one of the sessions and annoyed Thatcher which resulted in a fight at NXT TakeOver: WarGames.

Following Ciampa’s PPV victory, Thatcher became obsessed with revenge and even waited for Ciampa all night while fighting Leon Ruff. This hurt him, as a small distraction managed to get Ruff to victory. Timothy immediately took it out on Ruff and Ciampa appeared with a Modified DDT to announce that he accepted Thatcher’s challenge in a Fight Pit Match.

It is not the first time that NXT will hold a Fight Pit Match. Thacher previously beat Matt Riddle in this style of fighting, before The Original Bro was traded to the main roster. The FIght Pit Match is a match inside a cage with a platform on top.
