The British Ministry of Health has announced this Wednesday a new maximum of daily infections by a coronavirus, by notifying 62,322 new cases. Also, it has registered 1,041 deaths from COVID-19, after exceeding a thousand deaths in a single day for the first time since last April, according to official data.

Also this Wednesday, the European Commission (EC) has granted Wednesday a conditional license to Moderna for the use in the Member States of its vaccine against COVID-19, just a few hours after the European Medicines Agency (EMA) has endorsed the drug.

In Spain, Health notified 23,700 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, of which 10,877 correspond to the last 24 hours, and 352 deaths. With these figures, the total number of infections since the start of the pandemic amounts to 1,982,544 and the number of deaths to 51,430. This advance of the pandemic has led the autonomous communities to drastically tighten the measures to contain the escalation of infections and the health pressure that is beginning to be perceived in several regions.
