With the costly and widely awaited original drama, The Morning Show The new streaming service AppleTV+ took a moment. They paid off their chance. Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston and Steve Carell’s series was a success both with audiences and reviewers, maybe intrigued by Morning TV and the #MeToo story. Apple recently revealed that its second season, another ten episodes, is currently in progress. Taking into account the headlines, here’s what we hear about the second chapter of The Morning Show.

When will the Season 2 of The Morning Show be released?

A week after their debut, Apple announced that for another season, the Morning Show would come back. Although an exact date is not yet known, initial sources suggest that in November 2020 the show will return. “We’re writing the show now; we’ll film it this summer; and we’ll be on next November,” showrunner Kerry Ehrin told variety. However, after shooting two episodes in mid-March, The Morning Show halted production when the COVID-19 cases rose and eventually postponed its release. The show will be re-started on 19 October, according to Deadline, meaning an early release date of 2021 is possible as long as everything moves in the right direction.

What will the second season be about?

Although the expected release date of The Morning Show fits the 2020 election, it is fair to suppose that the present political environment will take the tale from the second season. But Eherin claims to the source that she “doesn’t write to the news”. She doesn’t even want to write about the White House. “I think you deal with political issues, but I say that you are not historically aged to deal with something specific, but you can take the momentum of what is happening in this world and do something about these issues. The reason is that you are into politics. You are concerned with political issues.

Will the original cast return?

Currently, the news chief Cory Ellison, Aniston, Witherspoon and Crudup, are returning. In December 2019 Ehrin told THR that the dynamics in the sophomore season among the two leading women will be further studied. While some viewers felt that Mitch’s last season 1 scene could be a roadblock for him, Deadline announced that Carell was back on as a recurring series in Season 2 weeks ahead of the broadcast.
