The good news is that there are plenty of indicators that the show’s success is evident, particularly in the United States.
The series spent 33 consecutive days at the top of the US TV charts, peaking in number one. The series was also well received in the United Kingdom where it spent 13 days in the Top 10 TV Chart.
As of November 17th, the show, according to the top 10s, ranks at 99 in the most popular shows of 2020.
What To Expect From Sweet Magnolias Season 2
There are many questions for season 2, especially considering the dramatic end of season one, especially in the final 10 minutes.
The big cliffhanger at season 1 is the result of the fight from the after-prom party. It caused a car accident and Kyle is currently incapacitated. The passenger in the car was not identified so this is the main question leading to season 2.
Maddie is already feeling strained because her ex-partner suggested that they try a new relationship. She also used her kids to make it work.
Helen has just separated from her boyfriend for many years. It’ll be fascinating to see what happens in that relationship, especially considering she wants a child.
Dana now finds herself with her problems in trying to keep her business afloat. Dana also has to deal with the possibility of her estranged son working from her kitchen.

Brandon Quinn and Dion Johnstone were elevated to series regulars for Season 2.

Where Is Sweet Magnolias Season 2 In Production And When Will It Be On Netflix?
The pandemic meant that it was not immediately clear when production would begin. Sheryll woods, the author of the books, stated that production is currently scheduled to begin in 2021.

In February 2021, we learned that production teams were in Georgia mapping out the next season and in addition, Netflix planned for production to begin in Spring 2021 in Atlanta, Georgia.
It was April 6th. Many cast members shared updates on their Twitter feeds about the return from filming. You can also view the current list of Georgia’s shows on the “Now Filming” table. It also includes Cobra Kai season 4, First Kill, and Raising Dion season 2.
Before filming started, Sheryll Woods stated that the writing staff is aware of how desperate people are for season 2 saying: “Please know we are pouring our hearts into all the answers and the new questions that are at the center of Season 2”. Sheryll stated later that she wasn’t sure when season 2 would arrive, adding: “That’s difficult to answer because it’s still trying to figure how that will affect the pace of production.”
Filming officially started in April 2021. Numerous pictures have been posted by the cast and crew plus other members of the public since filming began.
In July 2021, filming is still ongoing with several set photos getting out on Twitter such as the one below posted by Rockdale County’s Twitter feed (although it has since been deleted). Filming should be finished by July 2021.
While we are waiting, however, the cast held a huge reunion at Zoom during the lockdown. It’s worth taking some time to enjoy the reunion, which lasts over three hours!
As for Netflix has yet to release the second season. However, a 2022 release date has been set for Sweet Magnolias… We expect it to happen towards the start of the year. More information will be available as we receive production updates.
