Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi said on Wednesday that he was returning home from the Lanka Premier League due to a personal emergency. Afridi led the Galle Gladiators in 3 matches in the inaugural edition of the T20 tournament in Sri Lanka. Shahid Afridi also said that he would rejoin the franchise once the situation at home was rectified.
Giving information from his Twitter handle, Shahid Afridi said that unfortunately due to a personal emergency I will return home. I will be back with my team in the Lanka Premier League soon after assuming the position. All the best.
Shahid Afridi did an excellent batting
Even after retirement, Shahid Afridi’s bat sometimes goes away. He batted well in a match in the Lanka Premier League and played a half-century. He scored a fast-paced inning of 58 runs off 23 balls. His stay gives Galle’s team confidence and encouragement. After scoring a half-century, Shahid Afridi could not do anything special in the next two matches, and once scored 12 runs, he was also out on the Golden Duck.
Shahid Afridi was also in the news recently due to his involvement with Naveen ul Haq, an Afghan player in a match against the Candy Tuskers. Afridi advised Naveen ul Haq not to use profanity.

Afridi was previously allowed short days of quarantine in Sri Lanka. His flight to Sri Lanka was missed at that time and he came late. This time too, he can be allowed to join back with the team three days after coming home. It is to be seen what Sri Lanka Cricket decides on this. Afridi’s departure is a big blow for Galle, though.
