Never have I ever is an American comedy-drama about coming-of-age. It was created by The Office’s Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher. Maitreyi Ramakrishnan plays the role of a high school Indian-American student struggling to cope with the demands of teenage life.
All ten episodes of the show’s highly anticipated second season are available to stream and download on Netflix now, but what about the show’s future?
Release Date
Netflix has yet to renew Never Have I Ever for a new season. The odds are good, much like the Netflix original hit Virgin River. The streaming giant typically announces renewals one month after the latest season drops.
This means that we can expect news about Never Have I Ever season 3 (and Virgin River season 4) in August. It is safe to assume that Mindy Kaling’s co-created teen comedy will be back for another season. Fingers crossed, there will be many more.
We should try to schedule season 3 sometime between spring 2022 and summer 2022, considering Never Have I Ever premiered on Netflix in April. The second season was released in July.
It’s a long wait but it’s not as long as for other Netflix originals like Stranger Things season 4 and Lucifer season 6. Both of these are still in development and highly anticipated by their viewers. We can wait a bit for all that Devi and (spoiler) action!
Cast
We didn’t see any dramatic exits last season. Hence, we expect the following players to return: Devi, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Paxton (Darren Barnet), Ben(Jaren Lewison), Fabiola [Lee Rodriguez], Eleanor (Ramona Young), Devi’s mum Nalini (Poorna Jagannathan), and her cousin Kamala (“Richa Moorjani”).
There are also many fringe characters, including Devi’s father Mohan (Sendhil Ramamurthy), Devi’s counsellor Jamie (Niecy Nah), Eve (Christina Kartchner), Anesa (Megan Suri), Trent [Benjamin Norris], Prashant (Rushi Kota), and Mr. Kulkarni (“Utkarsh Ambudkar”), among others.
John McEnroe, a former tennis player, will be the back.
