American reality TV shows The Circle has been renewed for season 2 and season 3 as of March 2020. The show is based on a British television series of the same name and first aired on 1st January 2020 on Netflix.
The show has garnered a decent 7.5/10 rating on the IMDB’s website and has a pretty good audience rating of 89% and all credits should be given to the unique feature of the show in which the winner receives a $100,000 grand prize.
What is The Circle all about?
The show involves contestants or players living in isolated apartments and are connected to each other via their social media profiles. Now, these contestants can choose how they want to present themselves.
Some male contestant portrays them as female and some players change their profile image to someone more attractive. This catfishing concept makes it more interesting for the audience as none of the players know who are they really in touch with (dystopian vibes).
The contestants get to rate one another and the ones with the highest ratings become “influencers” and the ones with the lowest are eliminated or blocked. Influencers can also block low rating contestants. Once a contestant is blocked he/she can record a video message for other contestants revealing their real identity.
Finally, the players will rate each other one final time, also the fans will be able to vote for their favorite players. Eventually, one with the highest rating wins a grand prize of $100,000. 25-year-old Joey Sasso was the winner of the first season.

The participants are selected on an audition basis and these auditions take place online. You can be selected provided that you are over 18 years old, have a valid passport, and are not restricted to travel to the U.K. (where the principal shooting takes place). The casting has begun in June 2020 already.
The rest of the format of the show is going to remain pretty much the same.
The Circle Season 2 release date
As previously mentioned, Netflix has announced two new seasons for the reality TV show but the release dates for the same have not been disclosed as of yet. However, rumor has it that season 2 will probably air by early or mid-2021.
