Lucifer, which has been on Netflix since its move from FOX, is one of the most loved Netflix Originals. The new seasons often dominate the Top 10 worldwide after their release. Although we are only a few short months away from Lucifer’s 5th season, part 2, fans are already eager for Lucifer season 6, and there are still much to come!
While we would love to see more episodes of Lucifer, the wait will continue past July 2021. Lucifer season 6 won’t be available on Netflix in July 2021.
It’s disappointing that Lucifer season6 didn’t make it on the July movie and TV schedules. Season 5 part 2 arrived on May 28th.
Release Date
The good news is that Lucifer season 6 already has its production completed. This means that the season should be available for viewing and should be in the final stages. Netflix has plenty of flexibility in the timing of the release of the next season. It will all come down to the timing of when it might happen.
Joe Henderson, co-showrunner, has expressed optimism that Netflix will not make fans wait too long to see the sixth season. He told Word Balloon that he was excited about the upcoming sixth and final season:
“I don’t think it will push too far into the next year. I don’t think they’ll string it out too long, but I also just don’t know, so don’t quote me on that.”
We would love to see Lucifer season 6 sooner than expected. However, we believe Netflix will need to allow some time between season 5 part 2 (the show’s last season) and season 6. We expect Netflix to follow a standard release schedule, putting approximately a year between each season. This should allow us to release the show on May 20, 2022.
