Choose your raid
There are several types of raids in WoW, the gradation of which is carried out according to the type of difficulty:
– LFR (Raid Finder);
– Normal
– Heroic;
– Mythic.
For a beginner who does not have his own group, only the first level of difficulty is available. It is very simple to use: it is enough to sign up in an automatic queue, which generates groups on a random basis. After a certain number of players are recruited, the raid mode is activated. There are also leaders who collect random groups of random players for WoW Raid level NM (Normal Mode). However, in order to get into them, you need to have equipment of a sufficiently high level. And the raid will give practically nothing to such a player. As for the more difficult Heroic and Mythic raids, newcomers to such groups are not taken at all.
Guilds
Where should an ambitious beginner go? At the moment, there is only one way – to join the guild. But it should be borne in mind that not all guilds actively go to raids. Many of them have a rather narrow specialization: Mythic dungeons, or PvP battles. There are also some players who use guilds solely for social interaction. In order to find a guild that actively does raiding, you can use two methods. Built-in World of Warcraft function and search for guilds of interest. Or go to the WOWprogress portal. On the same site, you can leave a questionnaire so that the guild recruiting officers can evaluate all the possibilities of the candidate.
You should not be upset if you are not immediately accepted into the guild of the top ten. An inexperienced but active player can safely count on a strong middle peasant. Even so, the recruiting officer will most likely request the logs of previous raids. And based on their results, it will make a decision.
Raid log or “take care of your honor from a young age”
Experienced World of Warcraft players know what the Combat Log is and are very sensitive about it. It will also be useful for beginners to find out that there is a certain history, where all the actions of the player committed by him in the raid for a certain period of time are recorded. Therefore, even if a player has high HPS or DPS indicators, but commits gross mistakes during the raid, dying or letting down teammates, then his acceptance even into a very mediocre guild that specializes in raids will be a big question.
There are several other equally important limitations associated with skills. The player must have high-level equipment.
– Skills – knowing how to play your class and role is a must for any raider;
– As practice has shown, the following addons are absolutely necessary for raiding:
– Deadly Boss Mods or BigWigs Bossmods – informs about the boss’s abilities, in particular, their reloading during the battle;
– Weak Auras 2 – allows you to customize the receipt of information in the user interface. As a rule, before the start of the battle, the Raid Leader resets the necessary settings files so that they are the same for all raid participants.
These are just the minimum requirements for many guilds or raid leaders, they can be significantly expanded.
And now the main question. Is it worth starting all this hassle for the sake of another game mode? Definitely worth it! In addition to the fact that Raid is a rather interesting game mode that helps to form a good team, it gives you the opportunity to get high-level items.
