Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is a 2002 action-adventure game produced as part of the Grand Theft Auto franchise by Rockstar North and released by Rockstar Games. Set in the fictional Miami-based Vice City in 1986, the game follows the activities of mob boss Tommy Vercetti after his release from jail. He hunts out those involved when he is caught up in an ambushed drug deal while eventually developing a criminal empire and seizing control in the city from other criminal organizations. In 1986, after serving a 15-year sentence for murder, mobster Tommy Vercetti is released from jail. After his release, his boss Sonny Forelli trying to set up drug operations in the south, sends Tommy to Vice City to supervise a major drug deal alongside crooked lawyer Ken Rosenberg. However, unidentified assailants are ambushed by the contract, with Tommy and Ken narrowly surviving it. Angry at hearing the news, Sonny commands Tommy, under threat of repercussions, to retrieve the pills, along with the money he gave him.
