“Haikyuu!!” is a popular sports anime with its great animated and volleyball matches. It was first released in 2014. It is Haruichi furudate’s biggest manga series. It’s about a middle school student called Hinata Shouyou. After seeing the National championship on TV, he became obsessed with volleyball.
The initial run of the show aired from April to September 2014 and was cancelled in September 2014. The second season aired between October 2015 and March 2016. Each had 25 episodes. The third installment, which aired between October and December 2016, had only 10 episodes. The fourth installment was released in two parts, in 2020. Haikyuu Season 5: Renewal Status
- Production I.G had not renewed Haikyuu’s fifth season as of the writing of this article. However, it is possible that the anime will return in the future.
There was some confusion about season 5, which began after season 4 was divided into two cours. Many fans and news outlets mistakenly assumed that season 5 was the fifth.
However, neither the animation studio nor the associated TV networks have officially renewed the anime.
There are enough material to last at least one more season. The manga will officially end in Chapter 402 and season 4 only begins with chapter 207, so there’s plenty of content to adapt.
The official English Haikyu!! Twitter page published a message last Wednesday thanking fans for supporting the series. The tweet ended with the words “Looking forward”

Haikyuu Season 5: Release Date
Haikyuu was not officially renewed for a fifth series, so a release date is not known. We can however make some predictions based upon the production schedules of previous seasons.
Season 4 was revealed at Jump Festa 2019 and premiered in January 2020. This is an approximately one-year production cycle.
Haikyuu Season 5 could premiere in autumn 2021 if the anime is renewed within the next few weeks and there’s no three-year break.
The fifth season of anime is expected to be released in Winter 2021. There will also be a two-course split schedule. It will be released in Winter 2021, and October 2022.
The fifth season may be delayed for viewers in the US and UK who have not yet seen seasons 3 and 4. Netflix viewers shouldn’t expect season 5 to arrive until late-2021 or early-2022.
