Although the successful series  Game of Thrones  ended a long time ago, HBO said at the time that it would develop several spin-offs based on the universe created by George RR Martin for his A Song of Ice and Fire

Although  House of the Dragon the prequel to  Game of Thrones’ set 300 years before the initial plot, is already in full development and is expected to be released in 2022, now Variety has assured that HBO is preparing a new fiction on the work of George RR Martin. The new series would be based on the trilogy

Tales of Dunk and Egg novels that tell the adventures of Sir Duncan the Tall and his squire Egg, the young Aegon Targaryen, and that is set 90 years before the mythical fiction of HBO.

At the moment we will have to wait to see if this information is confirmed, but what we can assure is that House of the Dragon is in full development and is scheduled to arrive in 2022.

The prequel will be set 300 years before the history of  Game of Thrones so it is assumed that the famous Civil War of the Targaryen house known as A Dance with Dragons will be one of the main axes of the plot of this spin-off.
