While most of the older Servlet books include a chapter on the subject, several new books on the subject are recently out that include information on JSP 1.1, including tag extensions:

• JavaServer Pages book by Larne Pekowsky from Addison Wesley is the first I saw
• Web Development with JavaServer Pages by Fields and Kolb from Manning is another
• Professional JSP by about 20 authors (including myself) from Wrox is yet another
• Pure JSP: Java Server Pages by James Goodwill from Sams is yet another

Of all the ones I've seen, I like the Manning and Sams one best. The Manning one provides depth, the Sams one is short and sweet.
