How can I access a JSP bean (jsp:useBean) from an applet?

John Zukowski

Basically, you can't. Keep in mind that JSPs execute on the server and spit out the HTML that the browser needs to load the applet. By the time the applet is loaded on the client, it has stopped running on the server.

The only means available to communicate with the bean is to make another request to the server. But, you aren't accessing the bean directly. You are communicating with the servlet/JSP page as a whole.
