How can I change the mouse cursor to a custom image?

I am really sorry but neither IE nor NS supports custom image cursors. According to W3C standards you can do that. For further reference visit : http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-CSS2/ui.html#cursor-props

According to W3C, you can mention a uri as "http://yourwebserverip:portnos/mycursor.cur" The custom cursor images should be in .cur or .csr format.

Now IE does support some default custom cursors. Refer the following URl for further references : http://msdn.microsoft.com/workshop/Author/dhtml/reference/properties/cursor.asp As you can see from the url, it does not give you any provision for specifying a URI for the cursor attribute in IE. NS does not support even the cursor style property

So once again you are left with no option.

If however you want to change the cursor image only once, then a lot of ActiveX controls are available which will change the cursor image throughout the application. One such ActiveX control can be found at the site : http://cometzone.cometsystems.com/

You can use this control to change the default image of the cursor when the user visits your site.
