Different CORBA products can interoperate using IIOP. But how does it actually work?

CORBA clients communicate with CORBA objects hosted on various CORBA servers through the Internet Inter-ORB Protocol (IIOP). An IDL (Interface Definition Language) processor translates object interface specifications to client stub code and server skeleton code. Client stubs and server skeletons are then compiled and linked with runtime libraries to deliver IIOP based objects.
