On December 10, Disney has announced its grid of content in cinema and Disney + for the next few years, at least until 2023, in which we find juicy news from Marvel and Star Wars.

Today I want to highlight what has been the highlight for me, starting with the fact that if in 2020 Disney + subscribers have rightly complained about the lack of new content during the year, in 2021 and in the coming years we will not to cope with all the series and film that are in different stages of production. And it is that Disney + prepares 10 Marvel series, 10 Star Wars, 15 Disney and Pixar series and 15 films just for the platform.

These announcements have been framed as part of Investor’s Day in which the president of Disney gives an account of the status of the company to investors and shareholders. An interesting fact is that despite the lack of powerful original premieres on Disney + throughout 2020, the Disney streaming channel already has 85 million subscribers . Although it is still far from the 150 million Prime Video or 195 million Netflix, in my opinion this difference will be shortened in the coming years with all the premieres announced, and the incorporation of adult content from Fox’s extensive catalog. These contents will be integrated into Disney + as the sixth brand, STAR, and will be launched in February 2021 with an increase of € 2 per month and parental PIN.

MARVEL
WANDAVISION

The first Marvel series at Disney is about to hit our screens on January 15, just in time to quench our thirst after the end of The Mandalorian and after the end of the holiday season.

In addition to the final official poster, the series has released the final trailer that paints that we are going to enjoy this series a lot.

It has been highlighted again that Wanda Vision is going to have an important connection with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness , the Sam Raimi film whose premiere is scheduled for March 25, 2022. And that in turn, Doctor Strange will also have connections to the third Spider-Man movie that, if there is no last minute change, the release date is December 17, 2021. Since it is a co-production with Sony, I understand that it was not mentioned in this shareholder presentation.

THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER

But there is more, much more, because on March 19, just 2 years later and I understand that coinciding with the end of Wanda Vision, Disney is going to release The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, taking up characters after the end of Avengers Endgame.

The teaser of the series seems exemplary to me. They show nothing of the plot, Sam is not wearing the shield at all and even USAgent comes out on his back for half a second, but what a look!

There was no announcement from Black Widow due to a 1-year delay from COVID. Just remember that the premiere is scheduled for May 7, 2021 and that Disney has confirmed that it will release all Marvel movies in theaters.

LOKI

The God of Deception will also arrive on Disney + in May 2021 and released a great teaser in which adventures through time and space are intuited.

The animated series with alternate stories will arrive in the summer of 2021, I suppose from July to allow time for LOKI to air in its entirety.

During the meeting their teaser trailer was presented, which also looks great.

SHANG-CHI AND THE LEGEND OF THE TEN RINGS

As there is no trailer yet, they have announced that the filming of Shang Chi has just finished in time for the premiere in theaters on July 9, 2021. They have taken the opportunity to present their entire cast.

MS. MARVEL

The long-awaited Ms. Marvel series on Disney + will arrive at the end of the year, showing this first behing the scenes in which Iman Vellani is introduced as Kamala Khan:

BLACK PANTHER 2:18 JULY

Marvel has no news, but it does confirm that Ryan Coogler will NOT hire a new actor to play T’Challa. Let’s see how he manages.

CAPTAIN MARVEL 2: NOVEMBER 11

Brie Larson returns as Carol Danvers in Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel 2, directed by Nia DaCosta. Recently joined by Ms. Marvel, Iman Vellani (Ms. Marvel / Kamala Khan), and Monica Rambeau played by WandaVision’s Teyonah Parris.
