Most people associate Aladdin with the Walt Disney Company’s famous rendition of the Arabian princess. However, the character’s origins can still be traced back to 16th-century folk tales which inspired many creators throughout time. Tales about the boy, his genie, and their adventures have made it into manga and anime. Perhaps the most successful of these has been the “Magi.” franchise. Aladdin encounters a magical genie in the story, which is similar to other versions. The story has Aladdin joined by his friends Morgiana and Alibaba. Both of these characters are also inspired by ancient tales.
Based on Shinobu Ahtaka’s manga the same name, a “Magi”, a TV series, was released in 2012. It aired until 2014. Although “Magi: Adventure of Sinbad” produced a spinoff, fans longed to see the original story. Seven years is too long to wait for another installment. But, all hope may not be lost.
When will Magi Season 3 be released?
The third season for “Magi,” which will air in 2021 and 2022, is expected to arrive sometime in the future. However, it may arrive sooner or later. Season 3 could be out as soon as this October. Although it may have suffered setbacks because of the COVID-19 Pandemic, it’s not yet clear if real-life events will cause any further delays. It is nice to know that “Magi” will be back on screens shortly, especially since many anime fans on Reddit thought that the franchise’s adventures on screen ended with the end of “Magi: Adventure of Sinbad”.
The production’s ambitious nature may also be responsible for the delay. Season 3 is more expensive than its predecessor, so the creators are taking extra time to ensure the series’ success.
Expected Cast and Characters
Magi’s characters are more interesting because of the voices they use. Kaori Ichihara, the voice of Aladdin, is highly appreciated by anime fans. She is a well-known voice actor who has worked in movies such as “Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid”, “Black Clover”, and “Combatants Will Be Dispatched.” Alibaba Yuki Kaji, another important character, has performed amazing voice work. Haruka Tomatsu worked as the voice actor for Morgiana.
She is one popular anime artist who has done great work in famous shows like ‘Horimiya’ and ‘Peach Boy Riverside.’ The original cast for these characters is expected to continue in the show, but there are no official comments on the casting of Magi Season Three.
Expected Plot
Magi Season Three will bring back the excitement and thrills of the previous seasons. The last season was filled with wars and presented Society as an institution which gave the show a completely new feel. The audiences expect more thrills after the end of the previous season. Magi, the anime series that inspired it, was originally sourced from 1001 Arabian Nights. This season’s Magi will also come from the same source material.
