Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani got married about a month ago, in an intimate ceremony, on a farm in Oklahoma, and the happy event ended up creating a moment of awkwardness between the musician and his friend Adam Levine.
It turns out that the event was very intimate and small, with only 40 guests, among the couple’s family and their closest friends, leaving many people out.
One absence that caught the attention of the press at the party was Levine, given his well-known friendship with Shelton, with whom he even worked on the American reality show The Voice, where the two and Stefani were judges.
And to make matters worse, news began to point out that Levine didn’t even know about the wedding and that he would have found out when he saw the photos of the ceremony on the couple’s social networks.
The American website Radar Online even published the testimony of a source close to the lead singer of Maroon 5, which confirms that he did not know of the official relationship of his friends.
“Adam had no idea when Gwen and Blake were getting married. He was neither invited nor informed, although he and Blake were close as brothers during their time together on The Voice,” the source said.
During a recent appearance on The Storme Warren Show radio show, Shelton admitted that he went through some embarrassing times, with Levine and other friends, after his marriage.
“I’ve had awkward conversations with several of my friends since then. They said: Oh, oh yes, I read about the wedding, I heard, how was it? Look, we did something small, get over it. It’s not about you. It happened to several,” he revealed.
For Levine was not the only one excluded from the wedding, as a source close to the couple was keen to point out, other former judges of The Voice, close to Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani were also not invited.
“It wasn’t just Adam who wasn’t invited. Kelly Clarkson, Nick Jonas, Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Ceelo Green, Shakira, Usher, Pharrell Williams, Miley Cyrus, and Ariana Grande were also not invited. It was a wedding for family and closest friends, not Hollywood celebrities,” the source tried to explain.
Levine and Shelton became very good friends after working together for 16 of the 21 seasons of The Voice, in five of them, the duo shared the judging panel with Stefani.
The backstage of the program was even where the couple approached and began to bond.
