Renee Montoya will be joining Batwoman Season 3 with the actress who played her role in season 1 Gotham The premiere season Arrowverse Drama could solve a long-standing mystery from Batman’s prequel series. One of the players inBatwomanSeason 3 is Renee who has tied the Batwoman comics. While Kate Kane has left you can spend your time with herBatwomanRenee was also one of her canonical lovers.
She is now joining Arrowverse. Renee’s casting stands out, as Victoria Cartagena will portray DC’s heroine for the second consecutive time after having played her on. Gotham. It’s not often that Arrowverse has the opportunity to showcase an actor who plays the same character but on a different TV or movie. Brandon Routh’s Superman is a good example.
Cartagena’s casting as Renee in Batwoman Season 3 is significant, given the way things played out in Gotham episode 1. Gotham had originally been intended to concentrate more on Renee, one of the main characters. The Batman prequel series was redesigned to focus more on the villains, and Gotham season 2 and beyond saw this shift.
While GCPD characters, such as Bullock or Gordon, remained, Renee and Crispus Allen mysteriously vanished. Despite Cartagena’s role as a series regular in Gotham season 1 the writers did not address why Renee was removed before the show’s second season.
Cartagena’s Batwoman season 3 version will have nothing to do with Renee from Gotham series 1, but the Arrowverse has an opportunity for the Arrowverse to unravel the mystery. In theory, Gotham could exist on any of the Arrowverse Multiverse Earths. This is especially true after Crisis on Infinite Earths. Perhaps Batwoman’s Renee was a Batwoman character on Earth-Prime. Her story included a complex love story and a similar life to Cartagena’s Gotham character. Since the Arrowverse has shown how doppelgangers can still have very similar life experiences, but with a few key differences, this could apply to Cartagena’s Renee.
It would certainly be a way to allow Batwoman season three to break the fourth wall. This is a nod to Renee’s disappearance after Gotham season 1. The mystery of whether Warner Bros. restrictions caused it or something else is still a mystery.
Batwoman could benefit from a key comic aspect about Renee which the Gotham creators missed in the first series. Because Renee will not be a GCPD officer anymore, this version of Renee could be incorporated into the Arrowverse as the Question. Ryan Wilder is still developing his super-team and Renee joining him as the Question could be a great addition.
It will also help Cartagena distinguish her Arrowverse version from her Batman. Renee, who would serve as the Question for Arrowverse, would bring more Latinx superheroes to the franchise. Batwoman season3 could reveal that Renee had worked with Vic Sage in the Earth-Prime backstory.
We are grateful toArrowverse Multiverse conceptCartagena can’t be the new Renee seven years later.Gotham.Flash The Arrowverse has done this organically for several decades, as they have included and honored the CBS series from the 1990s. While it is rare for an actor or actress to play the same role twice in two properties, it is still fun to see Cartagena’s character on Arrowverse.
Cartagena’s Character onGothamRenee was always a potential writer that she didn’t believe in. However, now she has a new opportunity to explore Renee deeper. I hope, Lady Season 3 can address Renee’s issues in a creative wayGothamSeason 1 situation. Have fun.
