Babbitt was a veteran of the US Air Force, with 14 years of service under her belt, during which she made four deployments and had a high level of security access. She lived near San Diego, California, with her husband. A video released in the media shows Babbitt lying on the ground and bleeding profusely from her neck, where she was hit by the shot that killed her.The images of the assault show how members of the Capital’s security and police officers drew and pointed their weapons at protesters who were trying to access the room where the plenary session was held. The session was interrupted and the congressmen evacuated.
