The path that the Mandalorian began as the first live-action Star Wars series will soon be consolidated. Disney has announced its ambitious plan for Star Wars with 10 new series. In addition to the Ahsoka-centric fiction starring Rosario Dawson and Mando’s spin-off Rangers of the New Republic, the studio continues to design Andor, the prequel series to Rogue One.
On the occasion of Disney Investor’s Day that took place yesterday in the United States, we were able to take our first look at the fiction starring Cassian Andor with a special report. The actor who gives it life, Diego Luna, takes us around the set and the different departments in which the production that we can see on Disney + is being prepared -among many others. “I’m very excited to have the opportunity to explore Cassian. It’s so much fun going on a set that emulates something you love,” confesses the protagonist.
“Rogue One, in many ways, is a movie that connected new audiences with older fans. The premiere was a bittersweet feeling, knowing it was just going to be a movie. But then the magic happened, right?” Moon. Rogue One was the first Star Wars spin-off and introduced us to the rebels who made possible the destruction of the first Death Star, commanded by Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones). Although his story was scheduled to be told in a single feature film, the studio saw a vein in Cassian Andor and his companions and announced the development of a series centered on him.
The project is at the beginning of its production, so it is still too early to see the first images. For this reason, rather than looking at fiction, the report lets us see what is happening behind the scenes. “As you can see, we are preparing. We are building buildings, rehearsing, training, trying on costumes … We are doing everything to make sure we have the best series possible,” announces the actor.
“12 episodes. 12 scripts. Over 200 cast members. Over 6,000 extras. Lots of creatures coming out of the creature department.” Everything is ready to release Andor, although fans will still have to wait a bit. It is slated to hit Disney + in 2022.
