During the NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day broadcasts through WWE Network, wrestler Adam Cole made a treacherous attack on Finn Balor and his partner Kyle O’Reilly.
After his successful defense against Pete Dunne in the main event, Finn Balor was attacked from behind by Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch. The tag team champions helped The Bruiserweight rise up and together they lashed out at the owner of the NXT Championship. However, The Undisputed Era went on the attack and managed to drive the three villains away quickly.
Kyle O’Reilly came to Finn Balor’s rescue and gave him a hand of confidence on behalf of the group. Undisputed Era was preparing to pose as a team with the still champion. But surprisingly, it was Adam Cole who landed his Superkick on Balor’s jaw and knocked him unconscious against the canvas. His teammates Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly tried to make their leader regain his reason, but the latter decided to launch a second kick at O’Reilly to send him to the ground. After this attack on his own partner, Cole decided to go backstage surrounded by the amazement of those present at the Capitol Wrestling Center.
IS THE END OF THE UNDISPUTED ERA HINTED AT?
What seemed impossible to some fans and likely to others could be happening starting tonight. The Undisputed Era would go through its first major crisis since the team’s creation in 2017. Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, Kyle O’Reilly, and Roderick Strong became one of the most significant teams in NXT history. Among their multiple achievements, the quartet carried all the men’s titles of the yellow brand at the same time between September 2019 and January 2020. The questions of the fans could be resolved on February 17 on the weekly NXT show.
