I have Apache Tomcat 7.0 and Java SE 6 installed. Trying to compile a simple HelloUser.java (servlet) Here's what I've tried so far : 1. Modified the CLASSPATH to include the $TOMCAT_HOME/lib (where the servlet-api.jar exists) 2. Copied the servlet-api.jar to the $JAVA_HOME/lib (which is already included in the classpath) 3. Downloaded a separate servlet-api-2.3.jar and placed it in the $JAVA_HOME/lib Still getting the same error. Am I missing something ?    More>>

I have Apache Tomcat 7.0 and Java SE 6 installed.

Trying to compile a simple HelloUser.java (servlet)

Here's what I've tried so far :

1. Modified the CLASSPATH to include the $TOMCAT_HOME/lib (where the servlet-api.jar exists)

2. Copied the servlet-api.jar to the $JAVA_HOME/lib (which is already included in the classpath)

3. Downloaded a separate servlet-api-2.3.jar and placed it in the $JAVA_HOME/lib

Still getting the same error.

Am I missing something ?
