I wrapped a JAVA pragram to a NT service using JNI. In the initialization of this program, it connects to an ODBC data source. It runs well as a JAVA program, but as a service it failed. When I started in the Windows Service Manager, it failed at sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbc.SQLDriverConnect(), and reportd that data source name not found and no default driver specified. Waht's the problem with it?

Also, if the driver has to access the network, you need to give it privileges to do so. The service is very unlikely to have the same privileges that you have as an interactive user.

How did you set up your ODBC data source (user, system or file)?
