Java Installation Problems on Win2k

Hi.
I'm having huge problems getting java to work properly on this one Win2k machine. The installation goes by without a (noticeable) hitch. Then when I go to run any java programs using java.exe or javaw.exe nothing happens. No screens appear or anything.


When I use Task Manager and look in the processes section, javaw.exe or java.exe is there, taking up memory but not using any cpu cycles.


Also, if I try to load a page with an applet, it ends up hanging the applet!


Can anyone please help me?

Hi,


Have you tried to find which path the java.exe/javaw.exe are loading from.


What is the classpath being used ?


What are the DLLs being used by these executables when they run ?


You should be able to find the solution to your problems by find the answers to above questions.

You can download the utility procexp.exe from
Sys Internals -- which will give you the properties of a run-time process.
