hey, i want to know about the architecture for file transfer. how many types of architecture.which one is best.if some one provide me some links i shall very thanx ful to him/her.what is new technology for file transfer

Explicit transfer, via ftp or http, or (barf) OSI FTAM.
Implicit transfer, via remote/distributed filesystems -- AFS, NFS, SMB/CIFS/Samba, RFS, DFS.
