I am using Tomcat 4.0 with windows 2000. This website had been running for a long time without any problems.

Yesterday Tomcat stopped automatically. I found the following message in the event viewer for Tomcat.

"The Java Virtual Machine has exited with a code of 0, the service is being stopped. "

I do not know what to make of this. Can somebody tell me what is going one and how do I stop this happening in the future?

Thank you

So, you need to look at your Tomcat logs and see what was happening, when the JVM crashed.

I had a similar problem, but it would shut down when I would attempt to start the server. It was caused by bad XML config file. May try starting there first.
