I have put my beans i.e SpellCheck.java in WEB-INF/classes folder, and my jsp source file is in examples/jsp/mypage. Plz see the following code (wordpro.jsp) You entered the input, <%= request.getParameter("word") %> The processed output is : <%= Integer.parseInt(request.getParameter("mode"))==1 ? help.reverse() :""+help.check() %> After executing this file following error occurs. I have set the classpath in tomcat.sh and autoexec.bat file as mentioned in Professional JSP (Wrox), wht else should I do.

Have you tried putting your compiled class in the WEB-INF/classes folder?!
