I put my bean under examples/WEB-INF/jsp/beans but when I ran my jsp it couldn't find the bean. I didn't have a beans directory under WEB-INF/jsp so I created one. I have set classpath using autoexec.bat as set classpath=c: omcatwebappsexamplesWEB-INFjsp eans;%CLASSPATH% but it doesn't seem to work it shows the following error: Error: 500 Location: /examples/jsp/mypage/wordpro.jsp Internal Servlet Error: org.apache.jasper.JasperException: Unable to compile C: omcatworkDEFAULTexamplesjspmypagewordpro_1.java:52: Class classes.beans.SpellCheck not found. classes.beans.SpellCheck help = null; ^ C: omcatworkDEFAULTexamplesjspmypagewordpro_1.java:55: Class classes.beans.SpellCheck not fo   More>>

You need to make a classes directory under WEB-INF. Then put your class files under that.

/WEB-INF/classes
