JDBC Connection throwing ClassNotFound exception

I'm using a Linux m/c with the following class path settings in .bash_profile: PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:$PATH:$HOME/bin:/usr/java/jdk1.3/bin CLASSPATH=/home/org/gjt/mm/mysql/ My driver is installed in /home/ (and extracted accordingly) My program is as follows: Class.forName("org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver"); The above statement is throwing a ClassNotFound Exception. 1) Is my classpath setting correct? 2) is my driver installation correct? 3) Is my statement correct? .    More>>

CLASSPATH=/home/org/gjt/mm/mysql/


My driver is installed in /home/ (and extracted accordingly)

Class.forName("org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver");


The above statement is throwing a ClassNotFound Exception.

1) Is my classpath setting correct?
2) is my driver installation correct?
3) Is my statement correct?

put the top level folder in the CLASSPATH - that is /home
