Getting WINNT username/password

Is it possible to write a Java program that can get the username/password of the WINNT machine that is either standalone or remote?

System.getProperty("user.name") promptly gets me the user name of the WINNT standalone machine, but I want to know how to get the password as well.

Thats right, password cant be retrieved because of obvious security reasons. I dont know what is exactly your purpose behind trying to get the password directly, but if you want to authenticate the user then you should probably be using NTLM.

Hopefully, the password is not stored anywhere in plaintext, and therefore can not be retrieved in any way.
