For testing I took the example "Interest" from the side of "http://www.jboss.org/docs/manual/files".

with execution of the example I get the following error message:

try to add that package to the xbootclasspath...

this down there have to be added to the execution line in your run.bat/sh (with some changes):

%JAVA% -Xbootclasspath/a:"%SNW_HOME%/etc/logging.jar;%SNW_HOME%/etc/loggingsupport.jar" -Djava.util.logging.config.file=%SNW_HOME%etclogging.properties %JAVA_OPTS% -classpath "%JBOSS_CLASSPATH%" org.jboss.Main %ARGS%

and here a sample for the logging.properties:

# Set the logging level for the root of the namespace.

# This becomes the default logging level for all Loggers.
.level = ALL

# List of global handlers

handlers = java.util.logging.ConsoleHandler

# Properties for the ConsoleHandler

java.util.logging.ConsoleHandler.level = ALL

# Properties for the FileHandler

java.util.logging.FileHandler.limit = 50000

java.util.logging.FileHandler.count = 3

java.util.logging.FileHandler.pattern = %h/java%u.log

java.util.logging.FileHandler.level = INFO

good luck ;)

i had same problems this morning. It's , i think , a
CLASSPATH error , just put a correct CLASSPATH for you
client : i give my client code which work good :

----------------
set classpath= C:jdk1.3.1_02jrelib
t.jar;%JBOSS_HOME%clientjboss-client.jar;%JBOSS_HOME%libjboss.jar;%JBOSS_HOME%clientjnp-client.jar;%JBOSS_HOME%clientjnet.jar;%JBOSS_HOME%libjboss-common.jar;%JBOSS_HOME%serveralldeployejbpeople.jar;%JBOSS_HOME%serveralllibjboss.jar;%CLASSPATH%
-----------------
java -classpath %classpath% -Djava.security.policy=%JBOSS_HOME%serverallconfserveur.policy -Djava.naming.factory.initial=org.jnp.interfaces.NamingContextFactory -Djava.naming.factory.url.pkgs=org.jboss.naming:org.jnp.interfaces -Djava.naming.provider.url=jnp://localhost:1099 your client class
---------------------------
I hope that will resolve your problems
