I started with the first example of your course:
java MailExample SMTP.xxx.yyy.zzz.nn from@address toqaddress
where the xxx.yyy ... is the mail server IP.
I installed the latest versions of mail.jar, pop3.jar and activation.jar.
How have I to use the mail server declaration.
Is the prefix SMTP. necessary, as the above mentioned
form o.k?
Please give me a tip or a detailed description how to use
this axample.
Greetings
Michael Kunz

I've just had the same problem, and discovered that I'd forgoten to add activation.jar to the classpath --Bryan

The exmple AFAIK is a STMP example so you do not have to specify the protocol. Simply enter an IP adres for the SMTP server.
