			I have set the PATH, JAVA_PATH  and CLASSPATH. Still I am getting a
			

			NoClassDefFoundError

what is your linux shell ? If it was a bash shell, then
please check the PATH ,CLASSPATH,JAVA_HOME as in : -
echo $PATH
echo $CLASSPATH
echo $JAVA_HOME

send all of the output to me and tell me where is your JDK installation path

OK so you say you "set" them, to something (top secret?), but did you set them to the correct paths?
