Hi,

I'm looking for any guidance on IDEs supporting the v1.4 version of the SDK for Java 2 Standard Edition. I'm not looking for J2EE support yet. Attaching to processes is highly desirable, because I would like to use some distributed computing mechanism to implement thin clients.

Thanks in advance,

JBuilder 6 does have the JDK 1.4 support, but also you may want to try Eclipse 2.0 : www.eclipse.org

you can look into the free IDEs, like Sun's Forte (has a new name now), or Eclipse. There are a lot more IDE, but these two are really complete, and free.
